Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Vibebrator collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
We do not ask you for an account, a name, or an email to read anything here. This site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, runs no ads, and does not record which links you click. We do count page views, with Vercel Web Analytics: it tells us which pages get read and roughly where from, not who read them. What it collects is spelled out below. To draw some pages, your browser fetches live headlines and service status readings from a few outside companies. They are all listed below. Everything else, fonts and scripts included, comes from this site. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Who runs this site
Vibebrator is an independent publication operated by a single person. For any privacy question, including a request to access or delete data, write to hello@vibebrator.com. You will get a reply from a human.
What we collect

We do not ask for or store names, email addresses, payment details, or accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
How page views are counted
When a page finishes loading, a short script sends a page-view record. Both the script and the record
use an address on this site (vibebrator.com/_vercel/insights/), so no other company's server
is contacted. But the record is not kept by us: Vercel, the company that hosts this site, receives it,
processes it, and shows us the totals. According to
Vercel's Web Analytics privacy
page, a record can hold:
- the time, and the address of the page you loaded, including any query parameters on it (such as
?ref=), which Vercel says it filters - the site that sent you here, if you came from another site
- a rough location (country, region, city)
- your browser and its version, your operating system and its version, and whether you are on a phone, tablet, or computer
- the version number of the script
To tell a new visitor from a returning one without a cookie, Vercel works out a hash from the incoming request. Vercel says it does not keep that visitor session: it is discarded after 24 hours. Vercel also says Web Analytics collects no identifiers that follow you across other websites, nothing that would let anyone piece together your browsing across sites or work out who you are, and that what we see is aggregated so it cannot identify you. What we look at is counts and breakdowns (pages, referring sites, countries, devices), not a list of individual visits.
If JavaScript is off, or a content blocker stops /_vercel/insights/script.js, nothing is
sent and every page works the same.
Shared Vibe Check results
The Vibe Check has a Share button. It makes a link such as
vibebrator.com/vibe-check/result/wired#r=EBDWkkkk0g. The code after #r= is your
twelve answers and the day you made the link, packed into ten characters. Nothing else goes in it: no
name, no account, nothing about your device.
- Browsers never send the part after the # to a server, so your answers do not reach us or our host, and they are not in the server logs.
- The page-view counter would normally see the whole address, # included. The result page and the Vibe Check take the answers out of the address before the counter runs and put them back afterwards, so they are not in the page-view record either.
- The verdict (Blocked, Vibing, Humming, Wired or Verified) is part of the address itself, so when someone opens the link, the verdict does show up in the server logs and in the page-view counts, like any page name.
- Anyone you give the link to can see your answers. The link does not expire and we cannot withdraw it, because we never had it.
On a phone, Share opens your phone’s own share menu; where the link goes from there is between you and the app you pick. On a computer it copies the link to your clipboard.
Outside services your browser contacts
Some pages load things from other companies' servers. When that happens, your browser connects to them directly, so, like any website, they see your IP address and browser details and can tell the request came from this site. We send them nothing else: no identifier, no account, nothing you typed. The live headline and status requests are made without cookies.

The site itself is served by Vercel, which keeps the server logs described above and processes the page-view counts. The typefaces (Inter and JetBrains Mono) and the animation library (anime.js) are copies kept on this site, so loading them tells nobody else you were here. Links to other sites in the toolbox, lexicon, and lessons are not contacted until you click them.
Advertising
There is no advertising on this site. Two spaces for ads are reserved in the home page layout and switched off, and no ad code loads. If that ever changes, this policy changes first. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you will be asked before any advertising cookies are set, and refusing will remain a real option.
Affiliate links
None of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links — they go straight to the tool. If that changes, any paid link will be disclosed here and on the page it appears, it will still cost you nothing, and it will never buy a better rating or a higher position.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not build profiles of individual readers. The page-view counts are totals, not a history of what any one person read.
- We do not email you unless you write to us first. There is no mailing list.
- We do not run session recording, heatmaps, or anything that watches your mouse.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal data is held about you, to receive a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain processing. If you are in California, that includes the right to know and to delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising either.
Practically speaking, we hold very little that could identify you: the host's server logs, and any email you send us. The page-view counts reach us as totals and breakdowns, not as records about a person. The outside services listed above keep their own logs under their own policies. Retention
Server logs are kept by our host for a limited period set by Vercel, for security and debugging. Page-view counts are kept by Vercel for the reporting window of our plan, which Vercel's documentation puts between one month and two years, and Vercel says it may keep them longer. The outside services listed above set their own retention periods, described in their policies.
Children
This site is intended for a professional and adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the change is described here. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
September 27, 2026: added the Is it down? pages. They read the same public status feeds as the Vibe Board, from the same hosts, so the list of outside services has not grown; its description now names them.
September 27, 2026: added a Share button to the Vibe Check. A new section, Shared Vibe Check results, says what the link carries and who can see it.
September 27, 2026: we started counting page views with Vercel Web Analytics. The short version, the "What we collect" table, and the retention section now say so, and a new section, How page views are counted, lists what each page-view record holds.
September 27, 2026: the fonts and the animation script are now served from this site, so Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare) are no longer on the list of outside services.
